Born in central (yes, central) New Jersey, Joe was a member of the children’s choir at St. Matthias Church when his interest in piano was sparked. While studying piano at Franklin High School, he gained a strong interest in classical music, as well as in arranging popular songs in a variety of styles. He began to improvise more and eventually moved on to writing original songs. While at The College of New Jersey, he studied piano performance, music education, and classical voice amongst other fields. There, he gained more music theory and orchestration experience, writing more complex compositions and songs. He dropped out after four semesters to pursue a career in writing and performing original material. He released a demo in fall 2014 and an eponymous EP in November 2015. His most recent EP, ‘Specific Ambiguity’ was released in February 2019. He frequently performs around the East Coast, both on his own and with his band, "the Leskys." His "Joe Lesky: Just Him and a Piano" and "Joe and the Leskys: Live in Concert" concert series have received rave reviews and been hosted at a variety of venues across New Jersey and New York City.
Recently, Joe embarked on an on-camera acting career. He’s also started focusing more on creating original content. It’s been a time.
